Internet Marketing Nugget #3
Traffic on Autopilot; You/You, Inc.
The Superhighway to Success
Traffic is the energizer, the fuel driving the entrepreneur’s efforts on the Internet superhighway to success. Without traffic, all marketing activity is usually lost in the fools’ game, players jumping from opportunity to opportunity, affiliate program to affiliate program, and ultimately, broke, angry and deflated, onto the streets of failure and despair.
The three universally accepted steps on the stairway to Internet marketing success are:
(1) Build a list;
(2) Build a relationship with the people on the list;
(3) Market to the list.
Traffic is the marketer’s audience. Without it, there is no list, no one to build a relationship with, or market to … no on-ramp to the superhighway to success. Traffic generation on autopilot is found in one simple “How to” answer to the 5 Challenges facing the marketing industry today.
Gary Bencivenga, in the first of his informative Marketing Bullets, writes, “…gather the like-minded faithful of your marketplace.” Apply Mike Dillard’s, Magnetic Sponsoring, techniques and you have the simple, but comprehensive answer to generating traffic, and with it, propelling yourself down the center line on the superhighway to success, “gather the like-minded faithful of your marketplace around You/You, Inc., and market to them.” Apply it, and in the blink of an eye, solve the 5 blinding challenges facing the industry today:
Challenge #1: How to take advantage of social media without losing focus on the things that actually make you money?
Solution: People do business with people they know, like and trust. Focus your energy in the time spent on social media developing relationships with the like-minded.
Challenge #2: How to separate and immunize yourself from the competition?
Solution: Stand apart; separate yourself from the marketplace crowd simply pushing one or more of the tens of thousands of products and/or services available today. There’s no one like you, you’re unique with unique habits, attitudes and abilities. Promote yourself, not your product or opportunity.
Challenge #3: How to capture and hold the attention of your prospects?
Solution: If you market yourself, reflect core values, reliably do what you say you’re going to do in a true and authentic manner, listen to your prospects’ needs and wants, and help resolve them, prospects become the attentive faithful.
Challenge #4 & #5: How to swim unimpeded in a marketplace increasingly flooded with marketing restrictions and legal oversight?
Solution: Build your own business, your own asset base. Your security is in your list, the list of the attentive faithful. Market to it, but secure it in a lock box with the key safely stowed away, separate from your product(s) and/or service(s). You may loose the right to market a product or service, but with a carefully crafted list of the faithful locked safely away, the loss is generally nothing more than a minor distraction.
In conclusion, the great motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar, has said, “You can get anything you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.” The superhighway to marketing success is paved with this simple insight. If You/You Inc. ignore it, do so at your own risk.
